Request for Proposals: Preclinical Drug Combinations Study

September 7, 2006

The TB Alliance is sponsoring a systematic, preclinical study looking into various drug combinations for the treatment of tuberculosis. The objective of this study is to identify one or more novel drug combinations that may dramatically shorten TB therapy, and to rapidly move these combinations into clinical development.

The planned study will be a comprehensive survey of potential drug combinations, including compounds from currently available drugs, drugs in clinical trials, and drugs in preclinical development. Emphasis will be given to compounds with different mechanisms of action to address both efficacy and resistance issues.

Please see the Request for Proposals (RFP) below for more information.

Investigators are encouraged to submit a Letter of Intent based on your area of expertise and the facilities available to you. The deadline for submitting such a Letter of Intent is October 6, 2006. After proper review, the TB Alliance will identify a small group of applicants, and request that they develop full proposals. Full proposals will be due to the TB Alliance by January 31, 2007.
