Phieng Siliphaivanh

Senior Director, Chemistry

Phieng is a distinguished medicinal chemistry leader with 25+ years of experience advancing drug discovery programs from hit identification through clinical candidate nomination. She is recognized for strategic vision, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to guide complex portfolios in globally distributed environments. Her expertise includes medicinal chemistry, synthetic design, SAR development, early process considerations, IP strategy, and preclinical development. Phieng is passionate about mission-driven science and global health impact.

Phieng received a B. S. degree in chemistry and math from Tufts University and M.S. and M.Ph. degrees from Yale University and Columbia University, respectively. During her master’s degree studies, Phieng conducted research under the direction of Professor Sam Danishefsky. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina under the direction of Professor Michael Crimmins.
