We are committed to ensuring that every person at TB Alliance feels valued and respected. We appreciate the diversity of our team and are dedicated to ensuring that every staff member and stakeholder is treated with dignity. Our non-discrimination and anti-harassment policy, disability and reasonable accommodation policy, and safeguarding and child protection policy are designed to protect and empower everyone within our organization.
We believe in developing a culture of empathy and understanding and we encourage all TB Alliance staff and stakeholders to practice perspective-taking – to try to see the world through each other’s eyes – to foster psychological safety, build trust, and unlock the full potential of every individual working to end TB.
We are committed to embedding best practices in our workplace and continuously striving for improvement. Through annual reviews and analyses of our workforce demographics, recruitment efforts, hiring trends, promotions, and compensation, we work tirelessly to ensure fairness and equity in our employment practices.
We listen, learn, and evolve. We actively monitor and measure our progress through periodic engagement surveys, working groups, and committees that include staff and other relevant stakeholders. We pledge to routinely review and refine our policies and processes to ensure we are always moving forward in our mission to create a better, more just workplace for all.
Non-discrimination and anti-harassment
TB Alliance is committed to providing you with a dignified and respectful working environment. We provide a professional atmosphere that promotes equal employment opportunities free from discrimination and harassment based on any legally protected characteristic, without fear of retaliation for reporting concerns. TB Alliance strongly urges the reporting of all incidents of discrimination, harassment or retaliation, regardless of the offender’s identity or position. Our policy clearly defines each of these terms, with examples of inappropriate behaviors. TB Alliance has processes in place to ensure that reported incidents are investigated promptly, thoroughly and impartially, and that appropriate responsive action is taken.
Disability and reasonable accommodation
TB Alliance will consider requests for an accommodation based on religious needs, disability, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, or as a victim of domestic violence, sex offenses, or stalking, to enable an employee to perform the essential functions of the employee’s job. TB Alliance will provide reasonable accommodations for employees or applicants in any of these circumstances if the individual is otherwise qualified to do the job, provided that such accommodation is reasonable and does not constitute an undue hardship on TB Alliance. TB Alliance also provides accommodations for nursing employees and visitors, including a specifically designed private room and break time, to express breastmilk in the workplace.
Safeguarding and child protection
In pursuing improved treatments for adults and children, TB Alliance recognizes the critical importance of ensuring appropriate protections are in place to minimize the risk of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, as well as any forms of misconduct towards or harm to vulnerable adults and children. TB Alliance is committed to mitigating risk and maximizing benefits to adults and children by ensuring the highest standards of ethical conduct in our clinical research and access activities. We act in accordance with international Good Clinical Practices, which are based on ethical principles originating from the Declaration of Helsinki and guidance documents from international regulatory authorities.
