GHTC Launches its First Annual Global Health R&D Policy Report

April 21, 2010

The Global Health Technologies Coalition (GHTC) launched its first annual report on global health research and development. The report focuses on the GHTC's three priority areas—US policies related to public financing, regulatory pathways, and incentives and innovating financing. It highlights the role US agencies and policymakers play in advancing innovation for global health products, as well as makes policy recommendations to help accelerate the development of new global health technologies.

This report advocates research and product innovation as a key component of the overall US global health strategy, including in the president’s new Global Health Initiative and an increased US funding and coordination to promote the development of new global health toos, including TB drugs, vaccines, and diagnostics.
